This smock was brought into service with the UK Armed Forces as a more practical alternative to the standard "Soldier '95" Field Jacket. Based on the proven SAS Windproof Smock design, this garment utilizes a heavier 50/50 poly-cotton fabric for robustness and slotted buttons for main pocket closures. A wired hood is part of this design as well as double thickness material around the shoulder area.

4 expandable pockets at the front plus 2 vertical zip closure chest map pockets each with pen pockets inside give plenty of space for small items which can be secured to sewn-in loops on the chest pocket closure flaps.

A rugged full length 2 way zip closes the smock and the storm flap covering that is hook & loop fastened. The adjustable wrists also use hook & loop closures. The attached wired hood includes a draw cord and cord locks for adjustment and can be rolled up and secured in place when not in use by a cotton loop and small rear button. Waist and hem draw cords are provided, with the hem cord being elasticized and provided with cord locks.

Ours are the very latest version of these jackets and the small Morphine pocket shown in the images has now been replaced by hook & loop arm patches on both sleeves for identification and IR badges.

This is the ultimate field jacket, combining comfort with rugged functionality. Suitable for the civilian outdoorsman as well as those operationally deployed.
